Underwriting Guidelines
Companion Life Insurance Company has specialized in employee benefits for more than 40 years. For 14 consecutive years, they have earned an A.M. Best rating of A+ (Superior). They currently market insurance products in 49 states and the District of Columbia.
Companion Life also has a full portfolio of traditional plans that include: basic life, voluntary life, dependent life, short-term disability, long-term disability, dental, and vision. Each plan can be customized to fit the employer's specific needs. They are one of the most flexible, competitive, and creative companies we have ever been around. As such, the grid furnished below is a rough estimate of their criteria for underwriting cases based on plan type, group size, and employer participation. Each plan is subject to underwriting requirements that depend on the number of eligible employees and the percentage of employer funding.
Companion can generally matched any other carriers benefits, while remaining very competitive on their rates. As a matter of fact, if given the opportunity, they will beat the competition nine out of ten times if complete data of current coverage is provided.
